Ms. Prasanthi K

Ms. Prasanthi K is currently working as Assistant Professor (Academic Level 11) in Agronomy under the AICRP on Rice at RARS Pattambi, Kerala Agricultural University, with over seven years of experience in teaching, research, and extension. Specializing in soil–plant interactions and sustainable crop production, with a research focus on nutrient use efficiency, rhizosphere engineering, and climate-resilient agriculture. Currently conducting 6 AICRP research trials, 6 AEU based PoP trials, guiding postgraduate students (2), advisory committee member for PhD students (4) PG students (2) and contributed to six research publications along with several popular articles and leaflets. Significant extension achievements include implementation of 30 Frontline Demonstrations and 10 On-Farm Trials, and served as Principal Investigator for a State Horticultural Mission project on organic chilli cultivation in Edayur chilli. Actively engaged in capacity building, including training over 300 fertilizer dealers, and contributing to Krishi Vigyan Kendra activities and soil, water, and nutrient management services. Served as associate P I for Network project for enhancing millet cultivation in Kerala through technological interventions’ and also associated with various developmental and research projects. Currently serving as Expert committee member RWBCIS-2026-29 and Principle investigator of KERA project “AEU based PoP- 6 crops (Sorghum, Bajra, Ragi, Foxtail millet, Barnyrard millet, Little millet) in Agro ecological unit 10.
